Working with…

Brittaney Berendsen, RD

As a Dietitian, I specialize in helping individuals to liberate themselves from their eating disorders/ disordered eating patterns and reclaim their lives. I also am passionate about helping individuals to break free from dieting/ diet culture and rediscover the joy of eating with the modalities of intuitive eating and mindfulness.

I practice with an attentive, holistic, non-diet and food inclusive approach to nutrition therapy. My practice revolves around a Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy with the understanding that bodies are not actionable. I utilize nutrition-focused aspects of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and Solutions- Focused Therapy with a Trauma informed lens. I employ a candid, compassionate, motivational and strengths- based approach.

In our work you will learn to become reacquainted with your body’s hunger and satiety cues. You will learn the fundamentals of gentle nutrition while building skills for application including meal planning, intuitive eating and much more! Our work offers a courageous first step towards healing your relationship with food and your body.

It is an honour to help those on their journey of eating disorder recovery, I look forward to hearing how I can best support you as you pursue a brighter chapter.

Sydney Withers, RD

My practice focuses on building habits that are lifelong and helping clients develop a critical lens when discerning nutrition information. As Ellyn Satter says, “When the joy goes out of eating, nutrition suffers”. This is a guiding star for my practice as I take the passenger seat and assist you in making sustainable and enjoyable changes. I will work with you to identify your health goals and build an action plan to achieve these outcomes. Your plan will be tailored, flexible, evidence- informed, and include strategies to overcome challenges, improve your relationship with food, manage health conditions and achieve food adequacy. I employ a motivational, strengths-based approach to nutrition therapy.
